Raised to commemorate Canada's Centennial in 1967, the Centennial Totem Pole in Queen's Park, New Westminster, was carved by renowned Kwakwaka'wakw artists Lloyd Wadhams Sr. and Bob Whonnock. Featuring a thunderbird, orca, and bear painted in traditional Kwakwaka'wakw colours, the pole reflects the rich storytelling and artistic traditions of the Kwakwaka'wakw people.
In 2023, the pole was carefully restored by artist Lloyd Wadhams Jr., son of the original head carver, helping preserve its cultural significance and vibrant artistry for future generations.
